Arbacoochee Gold Property Site, Alabama

Spartan Gold’s main reserve site is 320 acres located in Cleburne County, Alabama, 9 miles southeast of the city of Heflin. The property is located adjacent to “Gold Hill” and is the central drain point for that hill. This property has not been worked for over 120 years, yet State of Alabama Geologists have confirmed that it is still one of the most desired properties in the State known to contain gold.

After substantial gold reserves were discovered in Georgia, prospectors began working in Arbacoochee, Alabama, establishing a gold-mining town in the mid 1830s. Prospecting in the area decreased when gold was discovered in California, and the majority of residents moved west. The Civil War further diminished what little population remained.

From 1830 to 1990 Alabama produced nearly 80,000 ounces of gold.
